Advanced Learning Opportunities at Central
Advanced Coursework
At Central (and all QPS middle schools), students in grades 6-8 may be enrolled in advanced coursework in mathematics, science, and English language arts. Eligibility is determined by your child’s school in the fall of grade 6.
Advanced Placement Center (APC)
APC is a citywide program for identified advanced learners located at Central Middle School. In March of grade 5, the top 20% of students, citywide, take a screening test in verbal and quantitative reasoning. Based on screening results, roughly 10% of students are invited to APC.
