This morning was an “All-Star” kind of day at Veterans Memorial Stadium! To wrap up this year’s “All-Star Program,” sponsored by the Arbella Foundation and the Boston Celtics, we honored students from Central, Point Webster, and South West Middle Schools for consistently meeting the program criteria for the year! This may have been through perfect attendance or through participating in the program’s art and writing contest, which continued the program's themes of inclusion and community among school students.

Students enjoyed bouncy houses, yard games, visits with former Celtics point guard Dana Barros, stunts by the Celtics’ mascot, Lucky, a dance clinic with the Celtics’ dance squad, mugging for the 360 camera, and a basketball clinic with the Celtics’ Coach Matt.

This is the 2nd year of a phased rollout of the program at QPS middle schools. Thanks to the Quincy School~Community Partnership and our partners, we are looking forward to completing the rollout and including all 5 middle schools next year.

We extend our thanks to the many volunteers from Arbella, who assisted with today’s events and cheered on our students, as well as our special guests from the Celtics organization!
